Right the family so far......

Right so as of right now I have five adults and 12 babies, even with my lousy maths that makes 17 ratties XD
First ones were Sebastian and Ceil got from a breeder on the 14th of september


Then we got Captain Cookie Dough 15th may


The mother Anna 15th of may

and daughter Sophie 15th may

The cookie pulled the move of a life time and escaped from his idiotically designed cage and got Anna pregnant and Anna delivered 13 babies however the runt passed on but 12 healthy babies live on. born at 7:16am on the 29th may

I took so many pictures almost daily when mine had kittens. I was caught off gaurd as had only bought her 6 days previously along with 2 kittens from her litter. When my cage arrives, it will house 9 rats maximum But Im determined to stay at 6. I see you guys having the rat babies and I really want more old girls

Boys aren't bothered. They just need floor space for fighting and lots of places to sleep!

well I had been planning to get some more rescues but with Anna's babies that gone to pot, on the plus side Anna's babies are goregous.

Yes and you get the pleasure of knowing them from day 1. It's totally different from getting them from a breeder as you're the only hooman they'll know and it makes for a fab bond.

thats true and also I can train them to come when they are called and such now, all my other rats were fairly old when I got them.

Cute babies are making me rat broody

well we had the parasites (family) on the phone today asking if they could have some babies, now I know people don't think me the best rat owner but trust me my family are appalling my one aunt her kids will be interested for a week then she will lose interest, my mother wanted some first time shes spoken to me in ages she calls to ask for my rats, she is a chain smoke with a lung condition that meant rats would aggravate it, they would hardly ever come out to play and would suffer with the smoke in her house, so I stood up to them and said we are keeping all of them, I would rather never go out of my home again than see any animal in the hands of my family, to me animals come first to them a animal is a sub being.

Sounds like a good call, I wouldn't call you a bad rat owner though!

I persoanlly think your doing ok with your rat babies And kudos on you for standing up and saying no Its your babies health your protecting

that and my grans paying for their stuff now she wants them they are going to protect them

they are so mind blowingly soft, also good news Sophie Anna's daughter who has been stuck in cage alone for a little has finally been accepted by Sebastian and Ceil after nearly a month of free ranging together!

You've got agouti, 2 different shades and blacks looking at those pictures. Their true colours won't come through till they're 6 weeks, but definitely looking like 2 shades of agouti and blacks to me.

Theyre all gorgeous

they are all growing up soooo fast cant wait for my other rats to meet them, Sebastian and Ceil have already welcomed Sophie (Annas baby before I got them) into their little pack I caught them all snuggling in a sputnik this morning
so there is going to be alot of fluffy play times to come, re doing my main room to make for a better free ranging area, trying to put all wires in casings, all low edges being blocked off with wood.
