Ok, so I have just bought home two hyperactive girlies (pics to follow) They're scuffing a bit, specifically the younger one is chasing the older one a wee bit. There's not been any blood or anything though, is this just them settling the pecking order as they're in a new cage?

More specifically Remy seems to be trying to mount Emily and possibly then bite the scruff of her neck?

One's in season. It's nothign to worry about. They're just using the other one's season as chance to get 'one up' on the other. Very Happy

Never mind posting on here with questions anyway. PICTURES DAMN IT!

*raises eyebrow* which is in season, the one being assaulted? There's been no blood or anything so I didn't think it was too bad but Remy is a persistant wee blighter Wink Going to get Doms camera out rather that just showing you my horrible phone pictures Wink

The one being humped is the one in season. Poor chubbo once got gang banged by every doe in her cage multiple times when she was in season, we were howling at her!

Haha poor Emily, I was somewhat surprised as these two have a very good history, now it all makes sense Wink

I must admit now I know what it is it's almost a little funny as Emily's kinda kicking her away and I can almost hear her saying 'Dude, seriously, quit it' I wonder why Remy feels the need to hump her what with them being both girlies...

It's purely a cominance thing, they use the fact that the doe in season is receptive to beign mounted to take the opportunity to try and gain a bit of social standing by mounting her. There was a big thing on it on the unmentionable forum! But i've seen it in my does. Ruby used to follow her mum round and mount her when she was in season.

Play fighting is normal too, you can tell the difference between plying screeches and the awful 'you've just cut my leg off' style squeeks that happen when they're actually fighting.

Were they concerned about it? Remy doesn't seem to be trying to do any actual damage I think she's just being a pest, Emily isn't squeaking like se did when say the boyfriend of the girl we got them from trapped her paw in the carrier door she just runs off and tries to find a quiet spot. Might it be being made a bit worse by the fact they're in a new cage?

Yes it will settle ddown, just keep an eye on them. No blood no foul is the rule and as long as the mouted can get away from the mounter then it's perfecty fine! Smile
